The way we think of aging is influenced in a big way by the images we see in the media. And, without examples of active, vibrant, intelligent older adults, it is logical that we will buy into the  stereotype of the sedentary, confused older adult who is content to sit in a rocking chair and talk about the good old days. We are learning that the stereotypes and pre-conceived notions we have about what it’s like to age, or what it means to have a disease or to have cancer, really affect how things go moving forward.
